KoKoTé
How does my order support people with a refugee background?
KoKoTé is the main project of the non-profit association Association Equilibre. This association offers people with a refugee background (>26) – especially women – the opportunity to combine work with education and thus obtain a vocational qualification recognized in Switzerland at KoKoTé or another company. By purchasing, you are specifically supporting this non-profit project and the educational measures for people with a refugee background.
Under what conditions are people with refugee backgrounds employed at KoKoTé?
Our employees live independently on their wages and do not receive social assistance. We pay normal Swiss wages. This naturally requires them to be employed under standard industry conditions.
Can the factory in Schattdorf, UR be visited?
Yes, company tours can easily be booked via our website.

How often is the KoKoTé newsletter published?
As a rule, we provide our subscribers with news from the manufactory 3 to 4 times a year. If we have special promotions, we may send out a special newsletter. However, the number of these is also limited. Interested? Then subscribe to our newsletter now.
Products
What materials are KoKoTé bags and accessories made of?
KoKoTé actively pursues development and solution approaches to gradually move towards circularity, Cradle-to-Cradle, and zero-waste in the future. We currently use ECONYL® for our products, which, according to our research, is the most sustainable material at the moment in terms of CO2 balance, recycling, microplastics, and water consumption. We also process Bonded Leather. We are currently testing recycled organic cotton as another material for our products.
Are the bags water-repellent?
Yes, all our bags are water-repellent. Certain models also feature a waterproof zipper.
Why are KoKoTé products generally in the higher price segment?
Our products are handmade in the KoKoTé manufactory in Uri – using high-quality, durable, and sustainable materials. The production costs of our products are in the higher segment because we pay Swiss wages and, if possible, purchase our materials in Europe to leave the smallest possible ecological footprint. How do I care for my KoKoTé product?
All our products are washable at 40°C. To reduce environmental impact, we recommend washing them in a bag that traps microplastics.
Does KoKoTé repair defective products?
Yes, you can bring your defective product (for 2 years, the ZuZi for 5 years) to either the Shop Zurich or the Atelier Bern, or send it to our KoKoTé Manufactory (address: Ried 2b, 6467 Schattdorf). We will repair it as quickly as possible and send it back to you. If we have any questions, we will contact you.
Can I try out and inspect the product before buying it?
You can find a selection of our products at our sales points in the Zurich store, from April 2026 in the Kaiserhaus in Bern, and at the manufactory in Schattdorf. There, you can comfortably view and try out our bags and accessories.
How do I redeem a KoKoTé gift card or promotional voucher?
On the checkout page for your desired product, you can enter the discount code in the corresponding field. The discount will then be automatically applied, and you can proceed to payment.
Custom-made products, Personalization, Upcycling
Can I customize my product?
We make almost anything possible. To ensure we know exactly what you're looking for, simply contact us by email or by phone at 041 872 14 14.
Of course, we can also customize or emboss larger quantities with your logo.
I have old textile materials. Can KoKoTé upcycle them into new products?
As one of the few manufacturers producing in Switzerland, KoKoTé creates new products for companies, associations, and other organizations from used textile materials. Tarpaulins, flags, banners, and even old work clothes are suitable for further processing.
Are custom-made products available for private individuals in small quantities?

Shipping, returns and exchanges
How long does delivery take in Switzerland?
Orders are shipped only after full payment has been received and provided the goods are available. Orders placed on weekends will be processed on Monday. We ship via B-Post Economy, so packages typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days after dispatch.
Can I pick up my order and save on shipping costs?
Orders can also be conveniently and free of charge picked up at the KoKoTé manufactory in Schattdorf (Uri) or at the shop in Zurich (Stüssihofstadt 11). Pick-ups are possible during the respective opening hours. You will receive a pick-up invitation by email as soon as the ordered item is ready for collection. The "Pick-up" option can be selected as a shipping method during checkout.
Does KoKoTé also deliver abroad?
Yes, KoKoTé also delivers internationally. For a more precise calculation of the shipping costs to your desired location, we recommend that you send us an email to info@kokote.com .
How do returns and exchanges work?
We accept returns within 10 days of delivery, provided the returned products are unused and in the same condition as when received. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If the order has already been paid for and the goods are returned on time and in proper condition, we will refund the purchase price minus the shipping costs. For an exchange for a different color, size, or product, please contact us at info@kokote.com . For products under CHF 90, the standard shipping fee of CHF 8 applies to exchanges.
