The story of Amene Nuri

Amene Nuri, KoKoTé

I come from Afghanistan and have four children. I have been working for four years KoKoTé.

I have already gained sewing experience in Iran, and in 2012 I worked as a tailor in Turkey. In 2015 I finally came to Switzerland, a big step for me and my family. At KoKoTé I started with an internship as a textile worker, and now I am doing my apprenticeship here.

KoKoTé for me is like a family. The pleasant working atmosphere and the support we receive mean a lot to me. The offered German course that helped me with integration is particularly helpful. My work mainly consists of cutting off fabric parts and sewing together, an activity that gives me a lot of fun. The company gave us refugees a valuable opportunity to demonstrate our skills and bring us into society. I am very grateful for that. My biggest dream is to successfully complete my training and that we all stay healthy. I also hope that our company continues to grow and receive many orders so that others get the same chance as I do.
