Drei Fachfrauen Leder und Textil und eine Textilpraktikerin schliessen ihre Lehre bei KoKoTé mit Erfolg ab

Three leather and textile specialists and one textile practitioner successfully complete their apprenticeship at KoKoTé

The leather craft, once a proud tradition in Switzerland, is in danger of dying out. But the Uri bag manufacturer KoKoTé is fighting back. In Schattdorf, Uri, KoKoTé is one of the few companies in Switzerland that trains leather and textile specialists. Now there is a reason to celebrate: three apprentices have passed the final apprenticeship examination for leather and textile specialists EFZ with flying colors, and a textile practitioner EBA has also been successfully trained.

Gönül Avcu, who has been with KoKoTé since the beginning, has made a significant contribution to the development of the sewing factory and has successfully accompanied numerous apprentices through to their final apprenticeship examination. She herself completed the shortened apprenticeship as a leather and textile specialist EFZ and, together with Adriana Voser, the leather production manager at KoKoTé, took over training responsibility for Jaël Marbet and Janine Duarte.

Janine Duarte, originally from Portugal, has now successfully completed her EFZ apprenticeship after her apprenticeship as a textile practitioner EBA. Jaël Marbet, born and raised in the canton of Uri, decided late in high school to complete an apprenticeship instead of the Matura. She has now successfully completed her subsequent apprenticeship at KoKoTé. Both of them are strengthened by their apprenticeships in their future careers.

Together, Janine, Jaël, Gönül and Adriana have built up the leather workshop at KoKoTé and refined the craft over the last few years, so that a professional leather workshop is now in operation where one-off pieces and prototypes are produced for companies.

Another successful apprenticeship as a textile practitioner EBA

Beatriz Millàn also has reason to be happy: the apprentice, originally from Colombia, passed the final examination as a textile practitioner EBA with a grade of 5.2 and is striving to further perfect her skills. Franz Huber, founder of KoKoTé, is proud of the apprentices' achievements and is pleased that three seamstresses will be able to start their apprenticeship as textile practitioner EBA at KoKoTé again this summer.
