Craftsmen with heart and soul
Javad Hosseini comes from Afghanistan, but had to leave the country at the age of 14 when his family fled to Iran. Years later, the flight brought him to Switzerland. He is married and the father of three school-age children.
In Iran, Javad Hosseini worked as a manager in an upholstery company. He managed a team of 25 employees. Javad Hosseini is very talented in handicrafts, but only attended school for 6 years. So he started a pre-apprenticeship at the Association Equilibre and was soon able to start his apprenticeship at KoKoTé to become a textile technician EBA, for which he already had a lot of previous knowledge from his time as a saddler in Iran. His dream is to run his own company in the textile sector in Switzerland. For him, training as a textile technician is the first step on his way to fulfilling this career and (life) wish. Gönül Avcu, production manager at KoKoTé and Javad's teacher, is enthusiastic about how Javad has developed during the vocational training: "Javad's sewing skills have multiplied during the training period, as has his experimentation with different materials. Javad manages the most difficult sewing tasks with great interest and motivation. He likes to learn new things and brings many ideas to the production."

For the practical final exam, Javad Hosseini prepared very well. On this day, Javad was very calm and confident and managed the exam day with ease. At the end of the examination day, the examination experts were very satisfied, one of them even ordered the product Javad had made, the backpack "2Täger", straight away. He received a mark of 6 for the practical exam, the LAP is passed!
Everyone in Javad's family is taking advantage of the opportunity to learn: his wife Asma is preparing intensively to perhaps start training as a nursing assistant SRC in the summer - she has already passed the German test. She has also been attending school classes at the Association Equilibre since January 2022. Asma is also on her way to take the next step to learn her dream job (health professional). Everyone wants to learn and then give something back to society with what they have learned.
