I'm the one who has the 24 parts
I am the one who sewed the 24 pieces of ECONYL®, Bonded Leather and cotton straps together to make it the easiest and most practical KoKoTé bag of all, I think! I can tell you that I put all my sewing knowledge into every stitch I made for these three sizes of shopping bag. I am Amene Nuri and I made the whole journey from Afghanistan to Iran - Greece - Germany to Switzerland with 2 sons. It was not a shopping trip! Making the "Poschti" is in a way an arrival for me. As a mother and passionate seamstress in my adult life, sewing has always accompanied me, no matter which country my escape took me to. It was the inner satisfaction of seeing things made with my personal standards of craftsmanship and the wonders that hands and minds can create. To do this for a living not on the run is a sense of having arrived. And my sons? The cook and the budding IT boy are also an achievement for all of us and make every mother emotional. And I am making progress in German. "Better and better," my teacher tells me, and that's a good feeling, because it sends me on a new journey without having to set off into the unknown. I can start my apprenticeship as a "Textilpraktikerin EBA" and finally get a stamp for what I'm good at! This is of course a great way to start, to get a Swiss stamp in craftsmanship. Come and see me in the shop and I'll tell you about ECONYL® and sustainability and why we need to take care of our earth by reusing our materials.
